Sophia Atkinson-Cowan

Sophia Kiki Cowan, 24 days, of Hope, died at 5:57 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Sophia was born July 14, 2011 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Brian T. Cowan and Erica J. Atkinson, both of Hope. Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Wanda (John Zieleniuk) Atkinson of Hope, Amber (Steve) Sturgeon of Hope and Chester Cowan of Temple, Texas; great-grandparents, Jim Connelly of Anderson, Jim (Charlotte) Barnhart of Columbus, Oliver Cowan of St. Louis Crossing, Sammy (Dave) Hogan of Temple, Texas and Charles Atkinson of Columbus; aunt and uncles, Tiffany Atkinson, Josh Atkinson, Erika Sturgeon and Jordan Cowan; several great-aunts and uncles also survive. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Keith Eric Atkinson, and great-grandparents, Jewell Atkinson and Ernestine Kimball. The family would like to extend a special thank you to William Cowan for all of his support. SERVICES: FUNERAL - will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. CALLING - will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. BURIAL - will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sophia Kiki Cowan Memorial Fund.
