Stanley Eugene Bock November 14, 1923 - August 16, 2006 Stanley Eugene Bock, 82, of Lakeshore Drive North, Hope, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at his home. Mr. Bock retired from Dalton and Payne clothing store where he worked for 22 years. He was a former radio announcer in Evansville and Terre Haute and at WCSI in Columbus, worked as disc jockey Hoppys Pal of Hoppalong Cassidy and had been a television announcer and did live remotes at WFBM. He also worked at Sears Large Appliances, Horns Appliances and Supreme Health Spa, had been a dry cleaning shop manager and drove a Kodak film route for CVS. He was an Army veteran, attended New Life Christian Center Church in Austin, was a volunteer teachers aide for Dick Howe at Rockcreek Elementary School and was a former member of the Optimist Club. He was a devoted caregiver for Josephine Baker for eight years. Mr. Bock enjoyed fishing, boating and bird watching on the lake and river settings of Schaefer Lake, Lake Monroe and Driftwood River. He was an artistic and talented oil and acrylic painter and loved all sporting events. Born in Shinnston, W.Va., Nov. 14, 1923, Mr. Bock was the son of Ellis and Audrey Keener Bock. He married Ruth Stiening Potter of Madison. He then married Dianne Baker on Nov. 28, 1970. She survives in Hope. Also surviving are sons, Ken Lee (Cindy) Bock of Dupont and Delvin Wayne (Ginger) Bock of Indianapolis; a daughter, Rita Netherton of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Adam Kenneth, Acquilla David, Bethany Leah, Asher Lee, Amzi Wayne, Corinnah Grace, Dulcie Anna, Esther Elizabeth, Avery Victor and Flora Ellen Bock, Stephanie Alexis and Stacy Elise Wilson and Austin Taylor Netherton; and one great-grandchild, Caleb Bock. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Eugene Bock, in 1993; and infant brothers, Max Lee and Keith Kay Bock. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 7 p.m. until service time today at the church in Austin and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday August 18, 2006 at New Life Christian Center Church in Austin and at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Stanley Eugene Bock, 82, of Lakeshore Drive North, Hope, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Bock retired from Dalton and Payne clothing store where he worked for 22 years.
