FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Pastor Irvin Benge officiating. VISITATION:  1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.Stanley L. Adams, 77, of 15th Street, passed away at 4:35 p.m. October 19, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Stanley was born December 13, 1939, in McCook County, South Dakota, the son of Clifford Andrew and Iva May Tarrell Adams. He married Mrs. Vivian Smith on April 7, 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was employed as a barber for 47 years. He loved his work along with meeting all of the new people who came in to the shop. He collected HO model trains, enjoyed fishing, and loved family get gatherings, along with spending time with his family. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Pastor Irvin Benge officiating. Calling will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Vivian; mother, Iva of Columbus; sons, Gerald L. (Lenora) Adams and John A. (Cristy) Adams, both of Columbus; a daughter, Melissa (Scott) Bay of Columbus; brothers, Lloyd Adams of Minong, WI and Marlin (Shirley) Adams of Columbus; sister, Carol Elliott of Orleans, IN; grandchildren, Erica Roberts, Kristen Bay and Sarah Adams; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey Richardson and Evan Richardson. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Betty Wiggins.

  1. Our hearts go out to our family who has lost not just a Husband, Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, GrandFather, Friend, but a MAN who everyone has always enjoyed being around! He will be remember as the BEST Homemade Ice Cream Maker EVER!!!! AND I will always remember going over to visit and loving the Piano that played by it’s self! AND who can’t forget getting a haircut by him! He would tell us that if we sat really still he would give us a bottle of Coke and a Gum Ball! I’ll never forget my memories! Rest In Peace Uncle Stan! I loved the tribute video of Stanley! and I am so glad that I have had the chance to get to know my dad’s (Ronny Weiland) cousin. Again, our thoughts & prayers have been with you in your loss!!
