Stephan loved cooking, gaming and collectible cards. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and went on several Methodist Youth Mission Trips. He was a 2009 graduate of Columbus North High School and was a student at IUPUC. Born in Bridgeport, CT, Aug. 15, 1991, Stephan was the son of Philip Miller and Suzanne Kotyuk Miller. He is survived by his parents, of Columbus; a brother, Philip Joshua "P.J." Miller, Columbus, IN; paternal grandmother, Florence Ellen Miller, West Lafayette, IN; maternal grandparents, Ted and Maryann Kotyuk; his fiancee, Stephanie Kirkling, Columbus, IN; seven uncles, four aunts and numerous cousins. He was proceed in death by his paternal grandfather Frederick "Pete" Miller of West Lafayette

I am overwhelmed with memories of this bright, funny, active boy.I’ll never forget Stephan as a little boy sitting in the window of his room calling “Sanctuary, sanctuary!” after seeing “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Although the end of his life was challenging, he now has truly found his sanctuary. He will always be in my heart.

Although we do not know each other I am praying for you at this time. I am from the area, but live in another state, and read about your son on line Journal. Just from the briefness of his obit, I realize what a special and fine young man he was.

I didn’t know Stephan very well, but I remember him from high school. He was such a happy guy, very sweet and funny. He was never afraid to be himself. It makes me very sad to know that there is one less person like that in the world today.
