Stephen Stamper October 29, 2007 Stephen Stamper, 100, of Foxpointe Circle went to be with the Lord at 5:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at his home. Mr. Stamper lived his early life in Kentucky, moving to Gary, Ind., in 1960. He was employed in construction and by Burgers Super Market, retiring from there in 1973. He moved to Columbus in 1990 and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially his family. Born in Roxana, Ky., March 26, 1907, Mr. Stamper was the son of Marion and Amanda Combs Stamper. He married Verna A. Halcomb Dec. 9, 1939. He is survived by his wife; sons, Ronald (Barbara) Stamper of Cedar Lake, Billy (Patsy) Stamper of Whitesburg, Ky., Donald (Peggy) Stamper of Cedar Lake, Edward (Barbara) Stamper of Columbus and Thomas (Melanie) Stamper of Columbus; daughters, Vera (Glenn) Boggs of Columbus, Brenda (Jerry) Halcomb of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Glenda Harris of Hobart; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Diana Harris; three brothers; and four sisters. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Bryan Solomon, Arnold Conn and Billy Conn officiating.
