Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’ve told this story a few times, but my best memory of Sterling was when they were moving in beside me. He may have been about 10 and he came riding up my driveway as fast as he could pedal, slammed on his brakes and said to me,”My name is Sterling but you can call me Ster and I said well, my name is Melanie but you can call me Mel and he smiled real big and off he went. We were buds after that. And every time I look at my garage door where he ran into it with that bike, dented it a little and tire marks are still there and I never cared to fix it and now so glad I never did because they will always be a part of that little boy that grew into a man and a part of my life. I loved him and he knew that, he was my friend and my best young pal. A piece of my heart broke off and went with him on his journey when I heard the news and I will miss him dearly.
Love to the family and I’m so sorry for your loss.
    Melanie (Mel) Lane

  2. Brother & Uncle,

My heart broke. My little brother. My only brother. We will miss you terribly. You have always been by my side. I know you looked up to me, but little did I realize how much I leaned on you and looked to you. Your kind spirit, your funny jokes, your strong beliefs- all will be missed. When you left this earthly home on Sunday, and I received the news, you can’t imagine all the thoughts that ran through my head. My heart sank. You were my side kick, my baby brother, my only brother, uncle whom your nephews won’t get to experience listening to your funny jokes and pranks, my cigar smoking buddy. I will forever miss you. I will make sure your memory and our memories are shared with Gaines and Porter. I take peace that you no longer suffer. You are dancing in heaven and may you always be an angel to us all! I love you, Sterling. I love you, brother. G and P love you too, so now go rest high and I’ll see you again someday.

    Love,

    Your sister.
    Your Brother in Law.
    Your nephews.

  3. With a smile as bright as each morning dawn, a laugh which would fill each room with joy, our memory of Sterling will always be a bright and pure as his name…Sterling! To the family, our love and support is and will continue to be for each of you. Patty and Shalah…know we’re here for you at any time.

  4. To Sterling’s family. You don’t know me. I met Gary briefly at the NAMI Family Support Group last month. I wanted you all to know how sorry I am to hear of Sterling’s passing. I know mere words can’t help, so I’ll do the one thing I know that can make a difference. I will pray for you. Our Heavenly Father will not abandon Sterling and He will not abandon you. I’m praying that somehow the unfathomable Love & Grace of God will settle in and around you, giving you the strength you need to make it through each day. As you remember Sterling I pray you’ll be comforted in that special way that only God’s Spirit can. My deep sympathy is with you all!

  5. Love this picture & remember those days not too long ago ♥️. Praying for all🙏🏻. Rest in paradise Sterling!

  6. My thoughts and prayers are will all of you right now. Patty, I can’t express how sorry I am for your loss.
