Steven A. McConnell, 52, McCordsville died October 10th. He was born Sept. 20, 1956 in Allen County, IN to the late George & Phyllis McConnell. He was a graduate of Columbia City Joint High School and Indiana University and was self employed in the construction industry. He was a Hancock County Reserve Deputy Sherriff. He was a former Boy Scout troop leader and a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Lee), daughter Kathleen, son Patrick (Caitlin), grandson Logan, sisters Kathy (Ken) Woodward, and Beth (Terry) Koeneman. He was caring and compassionate as witnessed by his heroics in helping with the evacuation of the Columbus Regional Hospital during the recent floods. His passion was for giving back to the community and helping others in both small and large ways and he will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Funeral Information
SERVICES: Calling will be from 2:00 until 4:00 on Wednesday, Oct 15 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church parish hall in Fortville, followed by a memorial service in the church.
