Teresa Michelle Knops
January 1, 1971 ~ June 20, 2025
Teresa M. Knops, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 54. Born on January 7, 1971, in Orlando, Florida, the daughter of James Sorrels and Carol Allen Harbor, Teresa grew up in a world filled with the warmth of the sun and the love of her family, which would become the cornerstone of her own life.
Teresa, known affectionately as "Nana" to her grandchildren, was a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love and faith. Her interests were as varied as they were heartfelt; she found joy in the quiet challenge of puzzles, the beauty of her cherished flowers, and the unique companionship of her beloved Blue-tongue Skink lizard, Calista. But above all, Teresa's greatest passion was her family. She poured her love into her children and grandchildren, nurturing them with the same care and attention she gave to her vibrant garden.
Her sweet personality was one that nurses and caregivers often commented on, reflecting a spirit that was as generous as it was gentle. Teresa was the kind of person who would extend a helping hand without a second thought, embodying the very essence of selflessness. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing her with strength and solace through the trials and triumphs that marked her journey.
An animal lover through and through, Teresa's compassion knew no bounds. She shared her home and heart with creatures great and small, believing that every living being deserved love and kindness. This love extended to her role as Nana, where she was not just a grandmother but a source of endless support, laughter, and wisdom.
Teresa's legacy is one of unwavering love and boundless generosity. She was the best Nana, a loving mother, a devoted friend, and a true servant of her faith. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Teresa's life was a beautiful mosaic of the moments she shared and the lives she touched, each piece a reflection of the love she so freely gave.
Survivors include, her mom, her children, Matthew M. Knops, Derek Pedigo, Davina Knops; siblings, James Sorrels Jr., and David Sorrels; grandchildren, Wiliam Laine, Amalia Pedigo, and Warren Pedigo.

We were thick as thieves back in the day. Never missed Friday night horror movies and Saturday at the Commons. I am broken hearted at her passing and yet overjoyed she is with her Daddy and Rory again. Love to all her family.

I know we hadn’t seen each other in years but some of my best childhood memories are with Teresa. Spending almost every weekend at each others house in grade school. She will definitely be missed. I know my parents were there to welcome her to heaven. They loved her so much. Keeping you all in my prayers
you were the best mom, and you weren’t even my mom ♥️
