Thomas Wayne Carter September 11, 1926 - December 07, 2009 Thomas Wayne Carter, 83, of Caldwell Place died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Carter was a former employee of the Gage Company and Quality Mill Supply. A veteran, he served in the Philippines with the Army 24th Division. He was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church. Born in Bartholomew County Sept. 11, 1926, Mr. Carter was the son of Nathan G. and Delia Williams Carter. His first wife, Winona Hehman Carter, preceded him in death. He married Anna Marie Carter May 4, 1968. She preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2004. Survivors include a brother, Clyde C. Carter of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Louise Carter of Winter Haven, Fla.; a nephew, Wayne Phillips of Oklahoma; a niece, Mary Kay Carter Ruxton of Florida; and loving friends, Danny and Velda Johnson of Columbus. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lyle E. Carter and Leon Philips. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. VISITATION: 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. BURIAL: St. Marys Cemetery in North Vernon.
