Thuan was born April 24, 1947, in  Rach Gia, Vietnam, the son of Vo Van Huu and Le Thi Ngoc.  He married Uong Thi Nguyen. He served in the South Vietnam Navy for six years. In 1975 he arrived in the United States and has been employed by the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. The funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Jones officiating. Calling will be from  11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home Survivors include his wife, Uong Thi Nguyen; son, Toan Phuoc (Hong Kim Tran) Nguyen of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Jenny Vo of Brooklyn, New York; brothers, Vo Phuoc Thao, Vo Duy Hieu, Vo Duy Trung and Vo Duy Phuc; sisters, Vo Thi Tinh, Vo Thi Minh, Vo Thi Duc and Vo Thi Duy Hanh; and grandchildren, Colton Khanh Nguyen, Dexter Khoa Nguyen and Emma My Hien Nguyen.
