Tim Eckelman December 21, 2006 Timothy J. Eckelman, 48, of East 25th Street died of a myocardial infarction at 3:07 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. A lifelong resident of the same farm, Mr. Eckelman attended St. Peters Lutheran School and graduated from Columbus East High School where he rode a wheelie as he pulled into the parking lot every morning before school. He farmed with his dad and Uncle Dick Eckelman and worked in the family business, Eckelman Backhoe and Trenching, which they will continue to operate. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his shop and riding around the farm on his Gator with his dogs Queenie and Rock. He and his son Joshua also built and raced Harley Davidson drag motorcycles. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Born in Columbus Feb. 16, 1958, Mr. Eckelman was the son of Maurice J. and Marian Kuehn Eckelman. He married Denise Lewis Sept. 23, 1983. Survivors include his wife; sons, Joshua Timothy Eckelman, at Indiana University in Bloomington, and a surrogate son, Scott Romine of Columbus; daughters, Amber (Dr. Aaron) Mast of Bloomington and Kristen Eckelman, at home; his mother and father-in-law, Maynard and Aleta Lewis of Columbus; sisters, Wilma (Mike) Yeley of Hope, Mary Jane (Larry) Hoeltke and Barb (John) Hackman, both of Columbus, and Susie (Ronnie) Kidd of Tampico; a granddaughter expected in April 2007; several nieces and nephews; devoted employees, Tony Ogle and Matt Meek; and hundreds of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday December 24, 2006 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday December 24, 2006 at the church. Private family burial will be Tuesday at Garland Brook Cemetery.
