Lovins, 69, of Delray Drive, died at 12:19 a.m. March 20, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.   Truman was born September 22, 1947, in Conrad, Kentucky, the son of Rothel E. and Rebecca Hood Lovins. He married Karen L. Repp August 31, 1967. He served 40 years in the U.S. Army/National Guard, was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart along with numerous other medals. Truman and Karen enjoyed traveling and had visited 45 states, Canada, the Bahamas and Mexico.  Truman was a proud father who dearly loved his children and grandchildren, and spending time with them. He especially loved being together as a family during family cookouts. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sichting officiating. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh with military honors being presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Gregory L. (Katie) Lovins of Elizabethtown; daughters, Tracy L. (James) Martin of Elizabethtown and Amy L. (Tim) Gladden of Columbus; brother, Ronald (Velma) Lovins; sisters, Ruby (Waymon) Gastineau and Lynne (Wayne) Lovelace; and grandchildren, Zachary Gladden, Hannah Gladden, Colby Lovins, Gracie Lovins and Jobey Lovins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Lovins, Charles Lovins, Bill Lovins, James Lovins, Jack Lovins and Glen Lovins; and sisters, Ada Lovins, Goldie Farris, Aleda Orlett and Bonnie Garland.
