Vandel Reed Pedigo, 73, of Columbus passed away on September 14, 2023, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Vandel was born on May 15, 1950, to the late Wilbur Pedigo and Oma Clodeen McCarter Pedigo in Clay County, Tennessee. Vandel was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Tungate Pedigo on December 16, 1967. Vandel retired after 45 years of service at Dolly Madison Bakery where he worked on the honeybun line. Vandel enjoyed collecting coins, sudoku and word puzzles, he also loved to read and spend time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Vandel is survived by his wife Elizabeth 'Ann' ; his son; Wilbur “Bill” (Dawn) Pedigo of Columbus; grandchildren, Bryan Pedigo, Jonathan Pedigo (Bree Pugsley), Derek Pedigo, and Katelynn Pedigo. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren Molly , Ben, Shi, Warren , Sylvia , Alice , Oliver Pedigo and Michael Pugsley)and his sister, Norma (Mike) Johns. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; Chuck Pedigo, Gael Pedigo, and Wrenford Pedigo, great grandson Rory Pedigo. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with President James A. Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
