Verna A. Stamper June 07, 1918 - April 21, 2009 Verna A. Stamper, 90, of Foxpointe Circle died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Stamper was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family. Born in Cowan, Ky., June 7, 1918, Mrs. Stamper was the daughter of Robert and Thula Hawkins Halcomb. She married Stephen Stamper Dec. 9, 1939. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2007. Surviving are sons, Ronald (Barbara) Stamper of Cedar Lake, Billy (Patsy) Stamper of Whitesburg, Ky., Donald (Peggy) Stamper of Cedar Lake, Edward (Barbara) Stamper of Columbus and Thomas (Melanie) Stamper of Columbus; daughters, Vera (Glenn) Boggs of Columbus, Brenda (Jerry) Halcomb of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Glenda Harris of Hobart; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Diana Harris; eight brothers; and two sisters. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11:00 a.m. Friday; April 24, 2009 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Solomon, Rev. Arnold Conn, Rev. Billy Conn and Rev. John Conn officiating. VISITATION: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday; April 23, 2009 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
