Veronica S. Branum, 65, of Columbus, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1957, in Columbus.
She loved attending church and worshipping the Lord. She also loved spending time with her family and friends and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She always tried to have a positive attitude and make people smile.
Veronica is survived by her husband, Jerry, whom she married on September 21, 1974; sons, Shawn (Christa) Branum of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Christopher (Regina) Branum of Elizabethtown; brothers, Bruce (Cookie) Hoffman of Scipio and Ralph (Kate) Hoffman of Newburgh; sisters, Vickie (Gary) Barkes of Fruitland Park, Florida and Sarah (Tony) Helm of North Vernon; grandchildren, Alyssa Branum, Caidence Branum, Ashton Fields, Hailey Fields, Kyleigh Branum, and Adalynn Branum. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her precious little dog, Lucy. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Hoffman and Janetta (Mounts) Wilson, and her father and mother-in-law, Jack and Evelyn Branum.
A celebration of Veronica’s life will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26 at the Columbus General Baptist Church on the corner of Clifty and Ross Streets. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Veronica, there are no words to describe what you meant to Robert & I. Your love was unconditional. You helped me through many things in life and was ALWAYS so positive. It was an honor having you as my aunt and my life was so much better because you were a part of it. Thank you for all of the prayers I know you prayed on our behalf. Sissy I am just numb. You have been the best and our family will never be the same. You always had a smile and was so full of love for everyone. I promise I will see you again in Heaven and we will have all of eternity to talk and sing and laugh. I love and miss you already.

Veronica, I don’t know where to even begin. I have never felt a hurt like this since my mom passed. It’s like losing my mom all over again because that’s what you were to me since then. My 2nd momma. My heart is broken into a million pieces and the only thing that gives me comfort is knowing you are pain free, worry free and sitting in Heaven, feasting at the table of the King. ( Probably fighting my dad over a chicken leg 😉) I thank the Lord for placing you in our family and I will miss you every single day! I work with Veronica for many years, she was always willing to help out and she was good person, we got along well , She always seem to have a smile on her face , and she was a good friend to all who knew her. RIP my friend.
