Viola Pendleton, 87, of Park Avenue, died at 12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Pendleton is survived by a son, Ivan Willoughby of Columbus; daughters, Phyllis Purvis and Clairene Ackerman, both of Columbus; brothers, Charles (Tory) Curtis of Martinsville, Bill Curtis of Wanamaker and Clay (Becky) Curtis of Whiteland; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Albert Ray Willoughby and J.B. Pendleton. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lambert Cemetery with the Rev. John Smith officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

  1. Viola was my grandmother and I found out today that she had died. I am not close to this side of my family but I never had any feelings for Mamaw Pendleton but those of love. I always thought Id get to see her again.
