Virginia Ann Robinson

Virginia was born October 30, 1928, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of Richard H. and Nellie V. Carper Robinson. Virginia's family lived in Auburn, Indiana, where she attended Auburn Public Schools. In 1943 the family moved to the Chicago area where Virginia graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. She then attended and graduated from Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois, in 1949, with a B.A. in both Spanish and English. The following year Virginia graduated from the University of Chicago with a master's degree in Spanish. Virginia taught high school Spanish and English for one year each in New Mexico and Wyoming. She then returned to the Chicago area and held various positions in business using her bi-lingual skills. In 1987 she moved back to Indiana and purchased a home in Columbus. Virginia was a member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered in the church library. Survivors include her nephew, Philip Robinson of Geneva, Illinois; nieces, Kathryn Berryhill of Houston, Texas, and Sue Ellen Robinson of Geneva, Illinois; and great-nieces and nephews, Laura (Al) Taglialavore, Rachel (Adam) Carrera, Timothy Berryhill, Julia Berryhill and Michael Berryhill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard P. Robinson, and his wife, Elizabeth; a nephew, Thomas A. Robinson; and her faithful cat, Arthur.

I knew Virginia when i lived in Columbus as we went to the same church. We both attended Lyons Township high School in La Grange,IL. We both loved our cats. Our mutual friend, Natalie Roll looked after her.
