Virginia Carolyn Starks Loyd August 24, 1909 - September 24, 2007 Virginia Carolyn Starks Loyd, 98, of Columbus, died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, August 24, 1909, she was the daughter of John F. and Mary Miles Starks. She married Malcom Lewis Loyd June 12, 1929. Mrs. Loyd lived her early life in New Point, Indiana where she graduated from New Point High School April 25, 1929. She moved to Indianapolis and was employed at the State House before working at Schwitzer Corporation where she retired, February 22, 1974. She was a member of Centenary Christian Church in Indianapolis and the Order of the Eastern Star as well as being a loyal democrat. She enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Loyd is survived by a grandson, K. Mark (Ingrid) Loyd of Franklin; a granddaughter, Cindy Loyd of Columbus; great grandchildren, Alysha (Josh) Davis of North Vernon, Kimber Loyd of Louisville, KY, Victoria Schneider of Columbus and Harrison Loyd of Franklin; great great grandchildren, Jonah Davis of North Vernon, Chase Loyd of Salem and Caleb Loyd of Louisville, KY; and a sister, Johnny Sue Berre of Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Mary Starks; her husband, Malcom Lewis Loyd; a son, L. Keith Loyd; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral Information VISITATION: Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Rossburg Cemetery in Decatur County, Indiana with the Rev. Danny Wolford officiating.
