Virginia Kelly
March 24, 1933 ~ August 7, 2022
Virginia Kelly (aka Vergie Johnson), age 89, of Debary, Florida, and a former Columbus resident, passed away in her sleep on August 7, 2022.
Virginia was born to Clem and Lola Malone in Casey, Kentucky, and was the youngest of four children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Johnson and James Kelly; her brothers, Beeler Malone and Kenneth Malone and her sister, Delores Setser.
Virginia worked at CP Electronics, Arvin's, and retired from J. C. Penny as a fine jewelry salesperson in Orlando, Florida where she received many awards. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oviedo, Florida. She loved to travel the world, making many friends. She had a fun spirit that will be greatly missed.
Virginia is survived by 2 children, Ronald (Betty) Johnson of Columbus and Vickie (David) DeHaven of Debary, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Mileana (Mike) Coryea, Jamie Johnson Remboske, and Kristen (Joshua) Prater; 7 great-grandchildren and lifelong friends, Bill and Jean Bennett.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Section 57 of Garland Brook Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Words cannot express how sorry I am about the passing of Vergie. She was so sweet inside and out. I have so many great memories going to their house after church (Fellowship Baptist). When Vickie and I were teenagers, Virgie and Jean Bennett would take us swimming at Donner. May God comfort the entire family and friends.
