SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. OFFICIATING: Rev. Glenn Poynter and Brother Jimmy Stump. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. FINAL RESTING PLACE: St. Paul Cemetery in Ogilville. "Ginny" Smith, 68, of Wallace Avenue, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at her home. Born December 11, 1946, in Summer Shade, Kentucky, the daughter of Paul and Flora Bell Harper Riddle. She married Ernest Ray Smith April 5, 1997. Ginny retired from Columbus Regional Hospital where she was a pharmacy technician. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and was a member of East Columbus Separate Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing and participating in church activities. Survivors include her husband, Ernest; son, Terry (Lorie) Birge of Elizabethtown; daughters, Naomi (Tom) MacKenn of Cape Coral, FL, Ellen (Brad) Woodcock of Columbus and Karen (Steve) Hendershot of Columbus; stepson, Joshua (Elizabeth) Smith of North Vernon; stepdaughters, Nicole Waldon of Louisville and Stacy Ruddick of Seymour; sister, Charline (Phillip) Ison of Hope; grandchildren, Raeanne Castor, Thomas Lipps, Ryan Woodcock, Trey Sanders, Kristin Childers, Autumn Sanders, McKayla Waldon Foss, Hope Waldon, Phillip Ruddick, Dylan Ruddick, Joshua Smith Jr., Zoie Hendershot and Malerie Hendershot; and great-grandchildren, Raelyn Castor, Averiee Castor and Kyler Foss. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Riddle; sisters, Mary Gates, Joyce Riddle, Alyne Reddnarah and Mamie Lois Riddle; and a grandson, William Ruddick.
