W. Stanley McCord

W. Stanley McCord, 83, of Columbus, passed away at March 12, 2020, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. Stanley was born February 20, 1937, in Bartholomew County, the son of Glenn and Esther Thomas McCord. He married Betty R. Brewer on April 5, 1975. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Fields of Ocala, Florida; a stepdaughter, Marilyn (Jessie) Myers of Nashville; four grandchildren and one step-grandchild, Kristi Goodnight of Columbus; as well as his two sisters, Glenda Beasley of Columbus and Lodema (Steve) Barrett of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his wife, Betty on May 28, 2016. Stanley attended Ogilville United Methodist Church and The Point church in Seymour. He was a retired forklift driver for Arvin Industries and was a great gardener, Kentucky Wildcats fan, and collected John Deere tractors. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Barrett officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ohio Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Schneck Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
