W. Wayne Parker, 55, of East 25th Street died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Parker was employed by Axsom Franke Plumbing. He was a member of Central Heights Church of God and was active with Hawcreek Conservation Club and fund-raising for Columbus East High School Marching Band.
He enjoyed painting, softball and watching his grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Conservation Council or Columbus East High School Marching Band.
Born in Glasgow, Ky., May 30, 1951, Mr. Parker was the son of Willie and Dot Matthews Parker. He married Phyllis G. Seaborne Jan. 18, 1975.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Columbus; daughters, Misty and Laura Parker, both of Columbus; grandchildren, A.J. Cruite and Karisma Parker; a brother, Allen Parker of Columbus; a sister, Lisa (Joe) Kirk of Columbus; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Dorothy Seaborne; brothers-in-law, Doug (Sara) Seaborne, Wendell (Debbie) Seaborne and the Rev. Wade (Rosemary) Seaborne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and a nephew, Andrew Paul Parker.
Funeral Information
VISITATION: Sunday; December 17, 2006 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the funeral service.
FUNERAL: Monday; December 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery
