FUNERAL: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Lowell General Baptist Church with military honors by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard and Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. VISITATION: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Wallace "Jack" Harden, 88, of North Campbell Street, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Bartholomew County, September 12, 1924, the son of the late John F. and Hanna E. Elkins Harden. He married Ruby I. Riddle on October 21, 1944, and she preceded him in death. Jack was an Army veteran, receiving the marksman medal. He retired from Dorel Industries after 44 years of service. Jack was a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan and loved to hunt, fish, play euchre, hunt mushrooms and spend time with his family. Jack is survived by sons, Wallace Dale (Brenda) Harden and Gary Lynn (Theresa) Harden, both of Columbus; grandchildren, John "Matt" Harden, Tyler Harden, Jason Harden, and Jeremy Harden; and great-grandchildren, Leah Marie Harden, Coryn Diane Harden, Phillip Harden, Paige Harden and Stuart Haines. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby on January 6, 2009; a granddaughter, Rhiana Johnson; and brothers, Ralph Harden, Woodrow Harden and Franklin Harden.
