Wayne L. Chowning July 30, 1954 - March 15, 2011 Wayne L. Chowning, 56, of Autumn Leaves Drive, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at his home. He was born in Sullivan, July 30, 1954, the son of William L. and Anna Lou Cain Chowning. He was the first son of William L. and Anna Lou Cain Chowning. He was an engineering clerk at AT&T. His hobbies were music and trains. Music was a big part of his life. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manchester College and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was a member of Garden City Church of Christ, the Golden Harvesters Class and the Philharmonic Chorus. He was a former member of the Columbus Lions Club and the Columbus Grange. Wayne was a pro-tem pianist at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and Grammer Presbyterian Church. He went to nursing homes in our area to play piano and sing. He is survived by a brother, William R. Chowning of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Mary Alice (Gary) Pike of Costa Mesa, California; step-mother, Angela Chowning of Jeffersonville; a nephew, Joseph Pike; a step-brother, Mark (Gail) Weber of Vallonia; a step-sister, Sarah (Eric) Wade of Morristown; a former wife, Brooke Loy Chowning of Columbus; mother-in-law, Karen Loy of Columbus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and a step-brother, Ricky Weber. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Vallonia Cemetery, Jackson County, IN Donations Information MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to the William L.
