William Leonard Spears

William Spears Jr., 73, of Columbus, died April 4, 2023, in Franklin, Indiana. William was born July 24, 1949, in Columbus to the late William Spears Sr., and Juanita Nickerson Spears.
William was a mechanic by trade, and enjoyed fixing vehicles, but was especially fond of working on his motorcycle; he loved anything related to Harley Davidson. William was also a past member of ABATE, Region 7. When not fixing vehicles, he enjoyed watching westerns, traveling, and enjoying all that life had to offer him. Family and friends meant the world to William and he enjoyed every minute spent with them.
William is survived by his son Larry (Deana) Spears of Oklahoma; step-daughter April Petrie and her significant other Deric Nentrup; grandchildren, Ariel, Eugene, Eric, Elliot, Ethan, and Nathan; His niece Tina (Mark) Buckley, along with their children Anthony and Kelsie Robinson; nephew, Kevin Branum; and his previous wives and life-long friends Bonita Sutton and Joyce Turc. He was preceded in death by his son Eric Spears.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen with no services scheduled.
