Winfred “Putt” Barnsfather, 73, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Columbus, died at 1:45 p.m. on August 21, 2020, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. Putt was born in Pleasureville, Kentucky, on August 4, 1947, the son of Charles and Ruth Barnsfather. He was a graduate of Columbus High School. Putt was employed with Reeves Reliance throughout his life in various capacities until his retirement in June 2009. He loved fishing, especially salmon fishing. He also loved to play bingo and go to garage sales. The funeral will be conducted at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Sutherland officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial of Putt will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery immediately after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Friends and family are invited to the visitation hours; however, the memorial service is reserved for family only. All visitors are required to wear face masks and are reminded to practice social distancing. Survivors include his daughter, Tina (John) Stephens of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Courtney (Canaan) Bowman of Elizabethtown and John “Johnboy” (Lauryn) Stephens of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Jazmine White of Edinburgh, Keighney Bowman of Elizabethtown, and new arrival Leighton Bowman of Elizabethtown; sister, Helen Wheatley of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Linda S. Barnsfather; his parents; brothers, Charles, Morrison, Hillis, and GebusBarnsfather; sisters, Katie Kinman, Virginia Malone, and Mary Sylvia; and second wife, Esther Barnsfather on August 20, 2020.

  1. Went on many fishing trips with Putt & his first wife Linda. Even though not blood related, they were thought of and loved like family. Wonderful memories to be cherished forever.
    Thoughts and prayers to Tina and all the extended family. Until we meet again..🎣

    • Putt was such a good husband and father. He always took care of his family. He will be sorely missed. A truly good man.

  3. So sorry for your loss. Putt was the best. My memory of him will never go away. I am constantly reminded of him when I go in my Lanai. My flooring was done by Putt and Gary Married. I will miss his humor and quick phrases. Loved him very much. Playing cards and going out to eat, he was a worker and good friend.

  4. I am so sorry for the loss I really didnt know Putt personally but I know his daughter Tina and her husband John . I did however use to see Putt and his first wife come shoppin at Jay c food store on state street where I worked for many years . They were always very nice people. I know Tina her husband ,children ,grandchildren and PUTTS current wives families will be at a huge loss with the passing of 2 wonderful people. My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone of you.

  5. Wow cant believed it when I read it in the paper bout putt.knowed him all my life .n my family knew him I wondered what happened to him after linda died so sorry.
