DeWayne Ray Feltner, 67, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Solsberry, Indiana, while on a hunting trip with his brother.
He was born on February 26, 1959, in Franklin, Indiana, and lived a life marked by love, generosity, and courage. DeWayne carried himself with quiet strength and a kind heart, and he was deeply devoted to the people and places that mattered most to him. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his warm spirit, and the way he made others feel valued and cared for.
DeWayne was a devoted husband to Brenda Feltner for 40 years, and their marriage was a lasting example of commitment and partnership. He was a proud father to Ryan Burton and his wife Amber, Erin Barrett and her husband John, and Valerie Schaewe and a precious baby that passed away due to a miscarriage. He was also a loving grandfather to Zion Barrett, Allie Barrett, Isaiah Barrett, Henry Barrett, Arabelle Burton, Lincoln Burton, Charlotte Burton, Lola Burton, Sam Schaewe, and Alex Schaewe. His family brought him great joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He is also survived by his sister, Diana Drew, and his brothers, Russell Feltner and his wife Linda, and Randy Feltner and his wife Karen. DeWayne’s nephews, Jeremy Feltner, Brett (Danielle) Feltner and Jake (Ariel) Feltner will miss their uncle as they were a special part of his life and were his hunting buddies
He was preceded in death by his father, Charels Ray Feltner, his mother, Alene Feltner and his brother, Roger Feltner.
DeWayne built a respected career as Sales Manager at Mac Beath Hardwoods, where his knowledge, work ethic, and professionalism earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. He took pride in his work and approached every responsibility with honesty and dedication. His leadership and experience left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Outside of work, DeWayne found joy in the outdoors and in the fellowship of his church and community. He was a member of Hoosier Harvest Church in Martinsville and a member of the Indiana Hardwood Lumberman’s Association. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who appreciated the beauty of nature and the peace it brought him. He also gave of himself through participation in skeet shooting events for Riley Children’s Hospital and fishing tournaments supporting children’s cancer research, reflecting his generous heart and his desire to help others.
DeWayne’s life was one of faith, family, hard work, and service. He will be remembered for his loving nature, his generosity toward others, and his courageous spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and his legacy will continue through the family and friendships he leaves behind.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoosier Harvest Church 4085 Leonard Road Martinsville, IN 46151. Everyone is invited to come and share memories of DeWayne with the family.

DeWayne was a wonderful person and we had done alot of lumber business over many years. We had great conversations about the Lord and our faith which was awesome and added to our relationship. We at G.L. Beaumont Lumber are deeply saddened by his passing. Our prayers go out to the entire family.
