Gloria Mae Martin

While we are all tearfully saying, “She is gone,”… all of Heaven is joyfully shouting, “She is here”. Gloria Mae Fish Martin, age 92, departed for Heaven on April 24th, 2026, to be greeted by her Lord and Savior and welcomed by loved ones who had gone before her.
Gloria was born on August 24, 1933. She lived in Columbus, Indiana, all her life, 72 years with her husband Ralph, who preceded her in death. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother of four. She loved her children and grandchildren and cared for their every need. She faithfully served in churches in the Columbus area as a Sunday school teacher and preacher’s wife. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, and reciting inspirational poems. She was a servant to everyone she met. Gloria worked at Columbus Regional Hospital as an EKG technician.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Susan Mayes (Danny); Sandra Barriger, Sharon Martin of Florida; Randall Martin (Tammy) of Florida; grandchildren, Mandy Long (Chris), Christopher Martin (Meaghan), Cory Sullivan (Sabrina), Brian Barriger (Angie), Natalie Steinhauser (Scott). Gloria and Ralph had 16 great-grandchildren.
Family meeting her in Heaven are Ralph T. Martin, husband; her parents, Ina & Glen Fish; her sister, Martha Henderson; her brothers, Jack Fish, Richard Fish, Jerry Fish & James Fish.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to the Alzheimer’s Associations.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Garden City Church of Christ, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon at the Church with Virgil Clotfelter and Brian Gilroy officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
