Resided in: Columbus, Indiana

Laura Ann Neil, age 57, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2026.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 24, 1968, she was the beloved daughter of Carol Benko and the late Ronald Benko. Laura grew up across the country, graduating from high school in Kingman, Arizona, before completing beauty school. She shared a special bond with her mother, working alongside her as a beautician for many years.

In 2018, Laura relocated to Columbus, Indiana, where she brought her strong work ethic to Applied Industrial Technologies. She later joined Kamic Corporation, where she excelled as a dedicated team leader and furnace operator. Known as an incredibly hard-working lady, Laura was a deeply respected co-worker and a loyal friend to many.

Laura truly lived by the motto “Live Like You Were Dying.” She loved to have a good time, listen to country music, and cook wonderful meals for her family. She took great pride in her appearance, always dressing to look her absolute best and making sure she always kept a healthy tan. Laura also had a passionate love for dachshunds—especially her beloved pup, Buford—and took great joy in collecting dachshund memorabilia. Above all, she loved her children and her family immensely.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Raymond Neil and daughters, Alicia Neil, Kirsten Neil and Cassandra Vallez; her devoted mother, Carol Benko; her sister, Christine Benko; nephews, Jason Zerr and Shawn Davis; niece, Jackie Doze; her “bonus sister,” Nicole Jines, Nicole’s daughter, Madison Bragg.
