His presence brought comfort, hope, and love to his family, who cherished every moment they were able to share with him.
Oakley especially enjoyed family time when he was well enough to be home. Those moments meant everything, and they were filled with warmth, tenderness, and the simple joy of being together. Whether it was a peaceful day at home or a special outing, Oakley’s family treasured the chance to make memories with him. He was deeply loved, and that love was returned in the countless ways he touched the hearts of those closest to him.
He also took a special trip to Georgia, an experience that stood out as a meaningful and happy memory. Oakley loved fishing, and that joy became part of the story his loved ones will carry with them. It was one of those moments that reflected the happiness he found in life’s simple pleasures, and it remains a cherished part of his journey.
Oakley was loved by everyone that met him and even by those who did not have the chance to meet him. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home in Columbus, Indiana. Services for Oakley will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 29, 2026 at Jewell Rittman Funeral Service and Crematory. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm along with one hour prior to service on Friday.
Oakley leaves behind his loving parents, siblings, Hunter Michelle, and Evelynn Monroe Beavers; grandparents, Crystal Petty, Jasper Beavers, and Parnelli Baker; great grandparents, Shari Ballman, Gary Peden, Robert Beavers, Jackie Snyder, Lloyd Colyer, Jack Baker; great-great grandparents, Sharon Peden, Raymond Peden, and Carol Fox.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Amy Lark, Betty Colyer, and Catherine Baker; great-great grandparents, Ruby Singleton, and Alice Baker.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that you give memorial donations to help purchase a grave marker.
