Pamela Sue Racosky Jenkins

Pamela Sue Racosky Jenkins, age 70, of Columbus, Indiana, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, adventure, and deep love for her family. Born on February 3, 1956, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Chicado) Racosky. Pamela grew up with a fearless, outgoing, and spontaneous spirit that guided her throughout her life. After graduating from high school in Johnstown, she pursued her higher education at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where she earned a degree in Broadcasting. Guided by a profound desire to care for others, she later attended Olney Central College and graduated with a degree in nursing. Pamela built a deeply fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse, ultimately specializing in memory care and hospice nursing, where her kind and sweet nature brought comfort to countless individuals.  Pam was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus, where her faith and spirituality were nourished immensely.

An adventurous soul who loved the outdoors, Pamela spent more than 20 years living in Colorado, soaking up the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. She was happiest when camping, skiing, or spending time near mountains and rivers. Her love for exploration took her on frequent travels, both domestically and internationally. Closer to home, Pamela was an avid reader, enjoyed foreign films, and loved playing spirited board games like Monopoly and Uno with her loved ones. She also possessed a passionate eye for photography, a creative skill she picked up from her father, who worked as a newspaper photographer in Johnstown. Above all, Pamela was a strong, resilient, and fiercely devoted “Momma Bear” where her three sons were concerned, always placing her family at the center of her world.

Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Racosky, and her beloved granddaughter, Clementine. She leaves behind a lasting legacy and is lovingly survived by her three sons, Erin (Paige) Brown, Ian (Maggi) Brown, and Keegan (Lindsay) Brown; her three brothers, Joe, Rico, and Michael Racosky; and her six cherished grandchildren, Ella, Avery, Jonah, Caroline, Isaac, and Callum.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 6045 E. State Street, Columbus, Indiana. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial taking place afterward in the church cemetery.
