Paula J. Landis

Paula J. Landis, 72, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on August 5, 2026, in Columbus, Indiana. Born on August 2, 1954, in Franklin, Indiana, she lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and kindness, and she will be remembered with deep love by all who knew her.

Paula was a faith-filled, loving, and kind woman whose gentle spirit touched her family, friends, and church community. She was a devoted member of the Apostolic Revival Tabernacle church, where her faith was an important part of her daily life and a source of strength throughout the years. Those who knew Paula will remember her warm heart, her steady presence, and the compassion she showed to others in both quiet and meaningful ways.

Family was at the center of Paula’s life. Her husband, Jim Landis, who preceded her in death in 2019, was truly the love of her life, and their bond remained one of the greatest blessings of her journey. Paula was a loving grandmother and caregiver to Nicole, and she embraced that role with tenderness, patience, and devotion. She is survived by her son, Jay Landis and his wife Charity; her stepdaughter, Jackii Myers; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her sisters, Deedee Broderick, Susann Stahl and her husband Ed, and Ellen Alexander and her husband Phil; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl J. Pitney, and her mother, Clara I. Pitney.

Paula’s life was also marked by resilience. In 1960, at the age of 5, she survived being struck by a car, an experience that reflected the strength and perseverance that would remain with her throughout her life. Through every season, she carried herself with grace and courage, meeting life’s challenges with faith and determination.

Services for Paula will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026 in the Revival Tabernacle Church, 2264 Illinois Avenue with Pastor Chauncey Romine and Darren Burton officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jim in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, Indiana. Visitation for family and friends will begin at Noon on Monday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in memory of Paula. The family wishes to send a very special thank you to Diane Brackin, Martin Bielawski and the many caregivers who cared for Paula.
