The following obituary was written by Randy’s family.

Randall “Randy” Paul Rhude, age 70, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026. Born on November 23, 1955, in Indianapolis to the late Herman H. and Martha Mae (Huddleson) Rhude, Randy was a lifelong area resident who built a life grounded in hard work, simple pleasures, and deep dedication to his grandchildren.

Randy spent his career with Blue & White Service, Inc., where he earned retirement through years of steadfast dedication and service. Outside of work, he found his greatest peace with a fishing pole in hand and loved cheering on his favorite football teams. Above all else, Randy’s absolute joy in life was his family—especially his grandchildren, who knew him as a warm, supportive, and endlessly devoted grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, as well as his siblings: Donna, William, Danny, Terry, Ruthann, Sally, and Marcie.

Randy’s legacy of love lives on through his daughters: Paula Rhude, Casie (David) Roseboom, and Brittany (Kyle) Elgar. He was the proudest grandfather to Kaitlynn (Randy) Burns, Jarrett (Savannah) Roseboom, Callee Roseboom, Jackson Roseboom, Rylee Elgar, and Eli Elgar. He is also survived by his loving siblings: Mike, Robin, Peggy, and Shirley, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In keeping with Randy’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held with family and close friends to honor his memory and legacy.
